Ambassador of festival
As well as the festival has director of festival, coordinator of festival, festival jury, etc. An integral part of festival is the ambassador of festival. For this 28th year of The International Festival of Theatre Schools SETKÁNÍ/ENCOUNTER was addressed Jiří Bartoška (czech actor and the prezident of The Karlovy Vary International Film Festival). Moreover, Jiří Bartoška is a graduate of The Janáček Academy of Music and Performing Arts in Brno.
The ambassador's main task are to represent the festival, to spread the good name of the festival and to introduce the public to the festival. Jiří Bartoška filmed official video with greetings and two spots which are in TVs or in cinemas.
Dear friends,
This year, we will hold our 28th encounter of theatre-makers during the SETKÁNÍ/ENCOUNTER festival. This event is an example of one of our basic theatre principles, not only in name but in its main idea. In theatres, during interpretation of a work of art, authors meet with creators and together, through performances, they also meet with their audience. This festival is also about encounters of theatre performers from many countries. They represent different cultural environments, theatre traditions, and personal views on the current development of theatre. I hope that this year’s festival will be intense, inspirational, and enriching for all visitors and spectators.
JIŘÍ BARTOŠKA
Graduated at The Janáček Academy of Music and Performing Arts in Brno. He performed in several theaters: Divadlo na provázku (later Divadlo Husa na provázku), Činoherní studio Ústí nad Labem, Divadlo Na zábradlí a Divadlo Bez zábradlí (here he works today).
He is also a famous film and television actor.
Since 1994 he has been the president of The Karlovy Vary International Film Festival.
