OFF – Isolation no 250

(Non)living isolation
A complicated tangle of ideas. Sudden changes in feelings. From the initial and sharp curiosity through a gradually growing sadness and approaching fear. But in the end it was replaced by a feeling of anger, which pounded intensely inside my body for several dozen minutes, after having seein Isolation No. 250.
I think that the bachelor’s project reflects the time we are in right now. In this (non-)living isolation, in a constant and never-ending pandemic world, full of orders and prohibitions that go nowhere, only multiply. Enormously. Social contact is important, but at present it is rather impossible. We do not want to be unknown and dying subjects between the four tight walls, we want to live.

Illusion of isolation
Isolation. Quarantine. No social contacts, our everyday life. The production reflects the current problems of each of us, but perhaps only in too light an atmosphere. Neither the music nor the choice of colours evokes the desired frustration, rather the contrary – composure and calm. On the other hand, the shadow play linked with a projection continues to fascinate me. The spectator, under normal circumstances, finds oneself in the space between the screens and becomes part of the performance, where they have the opportunity to watch both the bevelled screens and the space behind the screen at the same time. The question remains whether it would not be better to cast actresses, whose actions would be more dynamic, as at the end the spectator does not see the expected culmination.
