The school was founded in 1988. Among the graduates of the school: Ayelet Zorer (who played in the movie “Angels & demons” with Tom Hanks, “Munich” directed by Steven Spielberg, “Superman” and many others), Ali Saliman (who played in the movie “Paradise Now” that was nominated for the Oscar), Yael Grobglas (who plays in Hollywood) and many others who are playing leading roles in theatre movies and TV in Israel.
The school is located in the most neglected neighbourhood in Tel- Aviv. The uniqueness of the school is in the combination of the highest level of professional acting studies with community work in the neighbourhood where the school is located. Few such institutions exist around the world. As part of the training to become professional actors, the acting students are committed to lead 19 drama groups within the community such as youth-at-risk, immigrant’s children in distress, blind and partially blind, children with special needs senior and many more.

In this office, someone will be fired today. Thomas, Tony and Isobel fight for their jobs and in this brutal battle, as in life, only the strongest survive. All means are legitimate, even when the end is already known. Mike Bartlett’s powerful play had won the prestigious Olivia Award in 2015 and was produced with great success in London and New York. It is a play you can’t remain indifferent to. Look at them and see us, a society in which only the most capable survive, a society without empathy or compassion with one purpose only – to strengthen the tribe and to win
Meirav Shirom actress, dancer and director: “After 10 years in theatre and television as a successful actress and winner of the Israeli Theater Award for Actor in a Leading Role, it was only natural to expand my artistic scope and occupations and then came the directing. As an actress, I tell a story of a character within a concept decided by the creators of the show, and as a director, I invest in guiding actors and making the show perfect for me, adapting it to my best idea to convey a story, in this case, a harsh criticism of our rotten society. As a director, for me, the most important thing in this theatre is to tell a story. My preference is to choose plays that I connect to their theme, seemingly realistic. That is, to the audience There will always be a feeling that they hear the text in two layers, that the written text tells the show and the subtext tells the theme.”
