Off – review Chamber

ONLY YOU and your thoughts
IN THE C H A M B E R
Enjoy a moment’s pause, just because you just have a lot on your plate now.
Artists usually try to touch on topics that can appeal to each of us. But she (Karolína Vaňková), on the other hand, solves her problems with you, and in fact yours as well. The fact is that the problems of global calibre cannot be compared to yours at all. But don’t worry, she doesn’t talk to anyone about it. Except for you – that is, with you – in a chamber.
The original monodrama by Marie-Luisa Purkrábková, Karolína Vaňková and Alexandra Chernomashyntseva delves into the depths of human experience. You will go through the position of an unforced monologue through a metaphorical story of a slightly different, devoted Little Red Riding Hood. Karolína Vaňková can quickly connect to you even through the screen with her natural expression and direct addressing. She will guide you through the chamber of your interior. Only as far as you let her.

To just have a moment’s peace…
Inhale. One…
The congestion that ties us down. An overload of information and tasks that make it impossible to fall asleep with a clear head and enjoy sleep of the righteous. Stomach pain, icy fingers and a constantly flashing light at the back of my head. The effort to find balance and peace is repeatedly raped by a constant frantic run for perfection and self-sufficiency. A marathon that doesn’t end. We fall on our mouths and the scars increase in number.
Two…
The self-preservation instinct. The human need to have a dialogue with an internal partner. Or simply with someone who will just sit in silence, without prejudice and unwelcome regret, and listen.
Three…
Close down. Into yourself or a quiet chamber and be just alone with your thoughts. Longings. Frenzy. But wounds from the past affect our future actions. It’s like the butterfly effect. And when we have an intense feeling that the solution of everything is here and now… then it is gone in a second like a déjà vu. The peace shatters into a million pieces, which we have to glue back together with trembling hands, and we’re hoping for a better tomorrow again and again.
With a bitter lump in my throat, after watching the show at 11 pm, I realized that I had not emptied the washing machine and I have to pay the rent tomorrow.
