Unfortunately, this year’s SETKÁNÍ/ENCOUNTER 2020 festival cannot be organized as an existing measure that we consider necessary to protect the health of us all. We officially announce that this year’s festival is canceled.
Nevertheless, we thank all our colleagues, classmates, teachers, guests, participants, partners and interested people for their great support! We appreciate it.
Let’s take it easy and hopefully, we will meet soon! No later than the following festival 2021!

In response to today’s ordinance of the Ministry of Health of the Czech Republic, the Security Council of the Janáček Academy of Music and Performing Arts in Brno responded by abolishing full-time and combined study. All cultural, sporting and religious events over 100 people throughout the Czech Republic are also cancelled until further notice. The organizing team of the International Theater Festival SETKÁNÍ / ENCOUNTER follows the steps of the Rector of JAMU and continues to organize the festival within the given limits. If the existing government regulations are not revoked, the festival will be completely cancelled.
We analyze the crisis every day and try to adapt to the complete organization of the festival. More information about the festival will be published at the beginning of next week.

On behalf of the Theatre Faculty of the Janáček Academy of Music and Performing Arts (JAMU) in Brno, Czech Republic, we would like to inform you about the open call for the 30th edition of The International Festival of Theatre Schools SETKÁNÍ/ENCOUNTER, which will take place in Brno from the 31st March to the 4th April 2020.
